The editor-in-chief Ma Tianshou is a researcher and doctoral supervisor of Southwest Petroleum University, a winner of the Sichuan Outstanding Youth Fund, a specially-appointed expert in Sichuan, and a candidate for academic and technical leaders in Sichuan. He mainly engaged in the basic theory and process technology research of petroleum engineering rock mechanics, downhole measurement and control, drilling new technology and so on. He has successively presided over more than 10 fund projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China General Project, the National Natural Science Foundation of China Youth Fund Project, the National Science and Technology Major Project, the Ministry of Education Fok Yingdong Young Teachers Fund Project, and the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation Special Funding Project. He has published more than 70 papers in domestic and foreign journals, of which more than 40 papers were included in SCI and more than 20 papers were included in EI. He has successively won two provincial and ministerial first prizes, three second prizes, and one third prize. He has been granted 2 American invention patents and more than 20 Chinese invention patents. He serves as the Future Leader of the American Society of Rock Mechanics, the editorial board member of the Natural Gas Industry, Geofluids, and Advances in Mechanical Engineering.
