Professor Luo Pingping is appointed as the editor-in-chief of Journal Frontiers of Chinese Water Sciences. He is the third-level professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Water and Environment, Chang'an University, who was selected into the Shaanxi Provincial Innovative Talent Project and is the non-partisan person, member of Shaanxi Youth Federation, member of Shaanxi Youth Association for Science and Technology, and won the Nomination Award for the Most Beautiful Sanqin Science and Technology Innovation Star, the China Industry-University-Research Promotion Association Innovation Individual Award and the 2nd International Watershed Water Management and Comprehensive Governance International Academic Symposium Outstanding Contribution Award. He graduated from Kyoto University, Japan with a Ph.D., mainly engaged in research on water conservancy engineering, hydrology and water resources, and environmental engineering. In 2019, he visited the Institute of Earth Environment of Sophia University in Japan as a visiting researcher. He is the invited editorial board member of Pearl River and Journal of Earth Sciences and Environment, guest chief editor of many SCI journals such as Remote Sensing, member of Ecological Hydrology Professional Committee of Ecological Society of China, member of Water Resources Professional Committee of China Natural Resources Society, and a member of the Urban Water Conservancy Professional Committee of the Chinese Hydraulic Society and a reviewer for more than 40 international journals such as HESS, ERL, Scientific Reports, Journal of Hydrology, etc. He has authored 5 books and published more than 60 papers, 4 of which are highly cited papers by ESI (1%). At present, he undertakes more than 20 key R&D projects and international cooperation projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
