Land Use & Regional Governance (LURG) is an international journal focusing on fundamental and applied research aimed at advancing understanding of land use patterns, processes, and functions governing regional development. A central theme is how land use influences the regions and how changes in that regional governance impacts land systems. We encourage submission of cross-cutting, multi-disciplinary research in the areas of,
1. Land use patterns and processes from the global to the local;
2. Theoretical thought and praxis of land use transition;
3. Mechanisms of land use governing the features of regional development (e.g., socio-ecology, economics, and sustainability of regional development);
4. The interplay between land use and the regions and the role of regional governance in leading multifunctional land use and diversified land systems;
5. Regional governance strategies and their role in adapting/mitigating global change (climate change, land degradation, and biodiversity loss)
6. Consequences of land use and other human impacts on regional development;
7. Policy implications of land use and land system change for regional governance.
